10 big, beautiful country houses you can rent in Herefordshire

Don't worry about Googling "big holiday homes in Herefordshire", we've done the work for.

Here are our favourite holiday homes in Herefordshire than sleep 15 or more people.

1. Brinsop Court, Hereford

Tennis court? Check. Banquet hall? Check. It's own God-damn moat? Check.

Brinsop Court is a 14th Century manor house sitting within its own 800-acre estate, not far from Hereford city. Available for exclusive use (tell people it's your summer residence), the big house sleeps up to 34 people and comes with bikes to hire, fishing, a hot tub, tennis court and fire pits. Dogs and horses welcome.

2. New Court Park, Lugwardine

A "classical" country house in Lugwardine with Rococo plasterwork and a Regency west wing - both of which sound super posh.

New Court Park sleeps up to 24 and is described as cosy and warm, as well as HUGE. There's history here: the building date back to the 1500s and the "Gothicised" exterior was created in the early 1800s. A couple of years ago it was named one of the Ultimate NYE Party Houses by Conde Nast Traveller.

5. Upperfields Farm, near Ross-on-Wye

Little Gaerfields at Upperfields Farm is another damn fine barn conversion. The 17th century barn, made of traditional Herefordshire red sandstone, was once used as a milking parlour but now boasts an inglenook fireplace with wood burner, antique stained glass, and underfloor heating. The cows would have loved it. The barn sleeps between 2 and 20, plus there's a Shepherd's Hut across the farmyard in it's own little garden.
