Hereford Indie Food (Aug 27-28) was a celebration of Hereford's independent spirit, not just its rebooted food and drink scene.

Credit to every burger-eating, cocktail-slurping person involved, it was an event the entire county can be proud of.

For 2 days the car park behind A Rule of Tum's Burger Shop and Bookshop was transformed, literally filled with region's best food, drink, craft and creative-types. The vibe was homegrown and heartfelt - a proper showcase for the young businesses who've been re-enlivening the city's nightlife for the past 18 months.

Festival-goers were well fed thanks to Jake Townley (Jake's Cured Meats), Stephen Terry (chef-owner at The Hardwick, Abergavenny) and James Nugent (The Coeliac Chef) suppers; an al fresco AROT Brunch on Sunday; and pop up stalls from The Beefy Boys, Farmer Tom + the Cypriot Kitchen, Rayeesa's Indian Kitchen, Fodder, the Waffle Lion, Churros Con Chocolate, and pulled pork from BOHNS finest rubs & spices.

Fine wine, good beer and proper cocktails were poured by the Shack Revolution, Noble + Wild and Hereford Beer House, and the live soundtrack came courtesy of Alt-J's Gus, The Spitfires, and The Undercover Hippy.
