Groove Armada set to headline Eastnor's El Dorado

We’ve known for a little while that self-styled “party purveyors” – arguably the best job title in the world – Cirque Du Soul were bringing their El Dorado festival back to the sun-drenched deer park of Eastnor Castle this summer.

What we didn’t know was who was catching a lift with them. And now we do.

Topping the bill are international dance music statesmen, Groove Armada. The London duo have been putting soul samples, horns, keys and basslines to house beats as good as anyone in the history of soul samples, horns, keys or basslines. Or house beats. And they have a reputation for rocking the socks off a big crowd. Just ask anyone who was at Glastonbury in 2008. Or 2010. Or 2014.

They’re saying goodbye to the nightclub and hello to the country once more, for your partying pleasure, this June.

Joining Messrs Cato and Findlay in Ledbury will be a fellow live dance act with a penchant for multi-instrumentalising, Goldfish, house heavyweight Jax Jones (‘You Don’t Know Me’, ‘I Got U’, ‘House Work’) and one of the flag-flying, bar-spitting new generation of grime MCs that you need to know about, North London’s AJ Tracey.

Talking hip-hop, rap royalty Sugarhill Gang will be rocking it to the rhythm of the boogie, the beat – and, well if you've never heard Louisiana’s finest Hot 8 Brass Band cover Lil Jon, you’re living wrong.

Last year’s debut was a prodigious of mix of house, hip-hop and happiness, nestled in to Herefordshire countryside. Shy FX actually return for a second scoop this year, while takeovers from an array of the coolest party promo guys on the planet (including funk & soulers Caramello, Fiesta Bombarda, Heatwave/Hot Wuk and old school hip-hoppers Gin & Juice) all but ensure you’re going to a) going to have a funky old time, and b) go home with between 3 and 21 New Favourite Tracks that you’d never heard of before.

And, as if that if all that wasn't enough, the boys behind Hereford's new, number one house residency Discotek - Ross Powell and Tom Howell - will also be running the 1s and 2s for a set at sunny Eastnor (they're also running an event at the Venue at the end of April if you need some shuffling practice).
