Put The Date In Your Diary: Big Love Festival is back in Hay-on-Wye

What: Big Love music festival
Where: Baskerville Hall, Clyro, Hereford HR3 5LE
When: April 28 - May 1

Maybe the best boutique festival you haven't heard of yet, Big Love brings the love. Specifically, it brings the love to a country mansion just outside Hay-on-Wye.

The DIY weekender is as independent as it gets when it comes to music festivals.

There will be no Coldplay. There will be no Dorset farmers butchering Sinatra songs. There will however be some of the top party promoters from Bristol and Cardiff crafting an unbelievable three-day fiesta, featuring all things fun and funky. And all with an unusual amount of 19th-century wood beaming by way of a backdrop.

Think woodland discos, 90s warehouse parties and inndoor swimming pools. Seriously, would you rather spend Bank Holiday Weekend four-deep at your local Weatherspoons?

This year there's five stages, three indoors, and only 1000 tickets up for grabs.

The first act announced are legendary London party people Horse Meat Disco, whose DJs are known for bringing back the "halycon days of New York nightlife - a glittering disco behemoth of classics, italo disco, house oddities, Afro, and punk funk - and... throwing a party for everyone; homos and heteros, club kids, bears, fashionistas, naturists, guerilla drag queens and ladies who munch".

Have a listen below.

We'll update this space as and when more names are announced.

Last year featured the likes of Ibibio Sound Machine, the Ragga Twins and Ugly Ducking on the mic, as well as stages ran by Fantazia, Bump n Grind and BBC Horizons.
