Looking for the best vegan food in Herefordshire? Stop searching. We asked raw food guru Rosie Purdye for her top 10 vegan spots across the 'shire. 

In no particular order, we recommend checking out...


1. Kiki’s Juice Bar

From superfood smoothies to freshly-pressed juices and soups, Kiki’s has a whole range of veggie options perfect for vegans and healthy foodies alike. Try the Super Green (avocado, apple, spinach, spirulina, basil and lime) and add supplements like Vit C or immune boost for an extra kick.

You can get your order with Deliveroo too.



Go There For: The smoothies and fruit juices made to order, especially Super Green (£3.50) and Beetroot Blend (£3.50).

2. Vic’s Vegan Bakes

Vic’s Vegan Bakes is 100% vegan. From doughnut boxes and cupcakes to every and any sort of occasion cakes; Vic has all your baking needs covered.

Handmade in Herefordshire by Vic herself, she makes cakes to order and sells at food fairs across the UK.

We love the doughnut selection box and unicorn cake (perfect for Mother's Day). Check out her beautiful creations on Instagram or order a your own cakes by messaging her Facebook page.

Go There For: a tray of six delicious doughnuts (£12 for six) or the Mini Unicorn Cake (£15)

3. Zizzi’s

Zizzi’s has an impressive choice of plant-based pizza and deliver some of the tastiest vegan offerings around.

Using a coconut oil based mozzarella they are one of the first nationwide pizza chains to offer a vegan menu with vegan cheese - and it doesn't disappoint.

Try the bruschetta with pesto and fresh tomatoes, followed by gelato for a light and satisfying lunch.

Go There For: the vegan garlic bread (£4.75), vegan bruschetta (£5.55) or classic vegan Margherita (£7.95)

4. The Rocket Cafe

No vegan food collective could be complete without including the Rocket; Hereford city's healthy food mecca.

Situated in the picturesque Church Street near Hereford Cathedral, this cafe serves delicious sourdough wraps, pizzas and flat breads made to order.

We recommend the falafel salad with added caramelized onions and the freshly ground Method Coffee made with Bonsoy (a naturally fermented Soymilk which does not split or curdle in your coffee).

5. The Bookshop's Vegan Night

After much demand and anticipation, A Rule of Tum will host a one-off Vegan Night at The Bookshop on April 26.

From 7pm, head chef Nicole and her team will provide diners with an eight-course menu full of innovative and delicious vegan dishes.

We’re excited about the palm heart ‘fish’ cakes, spiced coconut cream, wilted spinach; yeast-battered turmeric roasted cauliflower, hot sauce and the tahini fudge + coffee. You better book now to avoid missing out on this fabulous vegan dining experience.

6. De Koffie Pot, at the Left Bank

A much-loved coffee house overlooking the riverside courtyard at The Left Bank Village, De Koffie Pot is a cafe-by-day serving extra special nosh with lots of emphasis on local, organic, vegan, and gluten-free dishes.

We love their tea (which is freshly blended in Herefordshire) and freshly-baked homemade cakes (best enjoyed while overlooking the river on a sunny day).

Go There For: Soup of the Day (£5), hummus and pitta bread salad (£6), the selection of teas and cakes

7. La Madeleine's Veg Out Dinner 

La Madeleine in Hereford re-launched last October with a new owner at the helm, Herefordshire chef Ed Pitts.

A new entry on the vegan food scene, this picturesque restaurant and café on Church Street is offering a few vegan-friendly dishes and specials to choose from during the day and on March 22 will go full veg for a special Mother's Day meal.

The night will feature an impressive range of dishes on its eight-course menu, from mushrooms in a sage and cider cream to raw chocolate cheesecake.

8. Fodder, Hereford

Hereford’s resident health food store Fodder has long been the go-to for vegans and healthy foodies alike.

Under new management since September 2014; owners Mark and Phil have revitalized the shop floor introducing new and exciting vegan products each week.

We love Pot’s Homity Pie and Whole Earth Cola for an affordable and healthy takeaway lunch.

Fodder is exclusively vegetarian and sells a wide range of vegan cheeses, meats, snacks and a great selection of basic and speciality cupboard ingredients that rival the best health food shops in London.

9. Cafe @ All Saints, Hereford

No voyage into vegan friendly eateries is complete without a visit to Cafe @ All Saints, based inside an old church in Hereford city centre.

The tofu is marinated for 24 hours in a mixture of red wine, soy sauce, ginger and garlic and packs a serious punch inside one of the best vegan sandwiches around. Pick up a takeaway for a cheaper lunch or take advantage of their late lunch offer with 50% off.

Go There For: the All Saints roast tofu sandwich with crunchy oriental veg (£5.50), or the Simple Salad Bowl (£5.10).

10. It's a Veggie Thing Pop Up @ De Koffie Pot, Hereford

Providing another unique service for vegetarian and vegan events, It's A Veggie Thing offering outside catering and runs pop-ups in and around Herefordshire.

Always using local ingredients they create fresh and innovative vegan dishes, the next date for your diary is March 22 when they pop up at De Koffie Pot on the banks of the River Wye.

We’re excited to try the Phish & Chips (beer-battered tofu, twice cooked chips, tartare & crushed minted peas) and the Double Dark chocolate pots with roasted spring rhubarb.
