What’s on in Herefordshire this Easter: rainy day activities

Look, this is England, there’s good chance it’s going to rain. With that in mind, here's our pick of things to do in Herefordshire this Easter if it’s pouring with rain or blowing a gale.

Dirty Feet’s Easter workshops


Combining breakdance with contemporary movement, rapping and DJing, Dirty Feet Dance Company has created its own brand of dance and urban arts. They’ll be holding workshops in Hay-on-Wye (March 28), Hereford (March 29-April 1), Ross-on-Wye (April 5-6), Ledbury (April 7) and Leominster (April 8).

The Railway Children live screening @ Richard Booth's Cinema Bookshop, Hay-on-Wye

On Monday, March 28, there's a live screening of York Theatre Royal’s Olivier award-winning production of The Railway Children.

Artist at Work – Sam Morris painting live

The ‘British cow artist’ Sam Morris (her nickname, not ours) will be at Labels shopping outlet, near Ross-on-Wye, on March 28 to paint a mural inside the store. It’s free to go along and watch the artwork taking shape. Sam’s original, quirky paintings of cows are already on sale at Labels, where there’s also a coffee shop and deli if you get peckish.

Treasure hunt and chocolate market @ Dewsall Court, Callow


Dewsall Court at Callow, near Hereford, has a busy Easter Sunday on offer, with a treasure hunt outside and inside a set Sunday lunch and chocolate market inside. They had us a chocolate market.

Newbridge Farm Park, near Ledbury


This family friendly farm in Aylton, near Ledbury, reopens on March 25. There's plenty to do outside but there's also an indoor barn play area with trampolines and hay bales, as well as plenty of pigs, goats, ducks, alpacas and chickens to see. Over the school holidays there'll be lamb feeding and a free Easter treasure hunt.

Write a Song from Scratch

On April 9, there's a workshop for children and their musically-inclined parents. Write a Song from Scratch is being held at the Courtyard in Hereford with singer and 'song inspirer' Olivia Preye.

The Courtyard Circus (for younger years)

Also at the Courtyard in Hereford is this holiday workshop on April 6, perfect for little actors who fancy learning circus skills. It's a drama workshop that builds towards a circus performance.
