Festival news: Britpop band Cast join Lakefest 2016 line-up

Primal Scream, The Coral and now Cast... Lakefest is shaping up to be a serious 90s/early 00s music reunion (in a good way).

The family-friendly summer festival, being held at Eastnor Castle deer park this August, has already announced the likes of Starsailor, We Are Scientists, and Newton Faulkner.

Lakefest: dates and tickets

5 festival memories ahead of Lakefest's 5th year

Cast, the final headliners to be revealed, formed from the ashes of Brit guitar bands The La’s and Shack in 1992. Their sound was a staple of the decade, with Noel Gallagher apparently saying that seeing them live was like a "religious experience".

It's a given that plenty of Lakefest-goers will remember the group's mid-90s hits, so if you're going get ready for festival field sing-alongs.

The band split after four albums but in 2010 frontman John Power took Cast's back catalouge on tour, playing a string of acoustic shows to mark the 15th anniversary of their debut record All Change.

Earlier this year the group signed to Creation Management (the company run by Alan McGee) and returned to the studio to record a new album.

Lakefest 2016 takes place from August 11-14. Also playing will be Afro Celt Sound System, Big Country, Molotov Jukebox, Secret Affair, Nahko and Medicine for the People, Duke Special, Roving Crows, The Cracked, Erica, Foreign Affairs, and Jasper in the Company of Others.

There'll be camping and glamping onsite, and early bird tickets are still available.
