Lakefest 2016: The Coral, Newton Faulkner and Afro Celt Sound System announced

The Coral, Newton Faulkner and Afro Celt Sound System have been added to the Lakefest line-up.

Lakefest 2016: dates and tickets

The music festival, which this year moves from Gloucestershire to Eastnor Castle Deer Park near Ledbury, has already secured cult rock band Primal Scream, We Are Scientists and Starsailor for the 2016 bill.

The new announcements should please festival-goers who remember dancing around their room to The Coral in the early 2000s or took notice of Newton Faulkner's mellow cover of Massive Attack's Teardrop.

Merseyside band The Coral announced their return to music at the end of last year, following a five-year hiatus. Their new record, Distance Inbetween, is due for release on March 4. Hits from the past decade include Dreaming of You, In the Morning and Pass It On.

Faulkner, with his recognisable ginger dreads and percussive guitar playing, climbed the charts in 2007/8 with the track Dream Catch Me. The English singer-songwriter's debut studio album, Hand Built by Robots, was certified double platinum in the UK, while his most recent, Human Love, was released in November 2015.

Afro Celt Sound System are known for energetic live shows, and music that fuses electronic dance with traditional Irish and West African sounds.

Lakefest director Lee Martin said: "We’ve received amazing feedback to the line-up so far and are overwhelmed with the reaction to the news of the acts we have booked to date.

"We can’t wait to announce more names over the coming weeks and then the countdown really begins to putting on a legendary weekend in August."

Family friendly Lakefest is now in its fifth year.
