Monday Recap: Karate Gold in Poland, and NFTO bring home the bacon in Wiltshire's Spring Cup race

Bibby and McEvoy are flying for NFTO

Racing in Ham Country this weekend NFTO carved up the competition with Ian Bibby taking top spot at the Wiltshire Grand Prix.

Team mate Johnny McEvoy took 7th, putting some breathing room between him and Adria Moreno Sala (Raleigh GAC) in the overall standings for the Motorpoint Spring Cup with just one race to go.

Bibby’s second win of the series bumps him up in to the Top 5 in the Green Jersey stakes,  while the Men In Black also top the team standing by seven points after four rounds.

It’s all eyes on Lincoln next Sunday, as the series enters cycling equivalent of ‘squeaky bum time’.

While NFTO DS Tom Barras will no doubt be confident McEvoy can defend his seven-point cushion in the individual stakes, the same margin in the team event is a little less comfortable with the top three riders from each team scoring, and Pedal Heaven getting three finishers in the Top 10 last time out.

Rowan is the Beast in the East, takes karate Gold in Poland

Hard-kicking Hereford star Chris Rowan took home karate Gold at the Polish Open 2016 over the weekend, backing up a couple of Golds at the Southern Open last month.

With his season rolling, this latest win is perfect preparation as the paratrooper gears up for the WUKF World Champs in Dublin later this month.

In the tournament, held in Szczecin, Rowan dispatched a Czech fighter in the final. Keep and eye on the Army Karate's Instagram account for some great pics and video in the lead-up to the Worlds.
