Put The Date In Your Diary: Bromyard Speed Festival 2017

More than 5,000 spectators enjoyed the inaugural Bromyard Speed Festival this year.

And with thousands more expected to turn out for the follow-up event in 2017 the date has been announced as Sunday April 2 2017.

This year's event saw spectators enjoying the live activity on the street circuit specially created through Bromyard’s picturesque town centre.

The successful formula created for 2016 will be repeated for 2017, with added extras.

The main theme for the 2017 Bromyard Speed Festival will be 'The Beast meets Babs', bringing together two of motoring’s most awesome behemoths.

Demonstrating on the streets of Bromyard will be 'The Beast of Turin', a unique 1911 Fiat S76 4 cylinder 28.4 litre, 300 h.p. fire breathing monster, built by Fiat to attempt the land speed record in 1911.

Also on the streets will be 'Babs', a 27 litre, V.12 Liberty aero-engined 450 h.p. Land speed record breaker, which was driven by the great Parry-Thomas to a new Land Speed Record of 171.02 mph, achieved in 1926 on the Pendine Sands in South Wales.

Discussions are on-going to bring other exciting motoring milestones to the Bromyard Speed Festival in 2017.
