From 'fresh meat' to serious skater: Treblemaker's booty busting Roller Derby workouts

One of the world's fastest growing sports, roller derby is not for the faint of heart.

It's a full-contact sport, on roller skates, where bruises are worn like badges of honour.

Games are split into short bursts of thigh-burning intensity, where one skater from each side attempts to complete as many laps as possible while four opposing players do everything in their power to block them.

And given the demands of the sport, most roller girls now put in two to three 'off-skate' workouts a week.

Hereford Roller Girl’s Treblemaker 909 - aka Louise Braithwaite – has a worldwide audience for her fitness blog, written specifically for skaters, with her videos getting more than 5,000 views each on Youtube.

Featuring ‘Butt Booster’ workouts, equipment reviews and advice for Fresh Meat (new skaters) on how to find their feet both on and off the track in the world of Roller Derby, the site is well worth a look for anyone getting into the sport.

But whether you are a hardened ‘jammer’ or just looking for a quick blowout you can do at home, check out the two derby-style workouts below from Treblemaker.
