Views from the Sphinx: The angles you haven't seen from Hereford's promotion

They had their Ryder Cup moment.

For almost 20 minutes the players stood on the first-floor balcony, a fortunate feature of clubhouse whose faded brickwork felt more like that of a Working Men's Club, and took the applause of the several hundred wind-bitten, jubilant disciples still in attendance.

It had been a long time coming but, as they have sung from the terraces all season, Peter Beadle was finally having a party. Bring the appropriate libations.
