For those who know, they know. But for those who have never sat in a theatre and watched a contemporary dance show, you need that experience in your life.
There is something specifically about 2Faced Dance - an all-male, all-intensity, international company based in Hereford - that hits you in the same way that hearing the first distorted powerchords of a punk band growl out of a stack of speakers changes your day like listening to that same song on a CD never will.
‘RUN’, their latest show, is dramatic and thoughtful and provocative and accessible. It features choreography from Lenka Vagnerová, Tamsin Fitzgerald and Rebecca Evans, and a stable of innately physical performers drawn from across the UK. It also features a life-sized set of angel’s wings and a series of three light boxes, each bigger than a car, which descend and raise up to the ceiling at the will of the dancers, as they are themselves framed beneath it.
It’s one hell of a show.
Halfway through a national tour 2Faced are coming home for one night only (Feb 23rd) however, if you are that side of the county, you can also catch them in Malvern on May 9.
Check out the trailer below shot by the incredible Luke Evans, and beneath that full details and a link to buy tickets.
