Dubstock 2017 @ Upper Hill, near Leominster

Until recently Volkswagen has been one of those rare brands where its owners have supported it with a messianic faith. Despite the company's recent problems there are still plenty of true believers out there who fully subscribe to the cult of the VW Beetle and the company's multitude of camper vans.

Driving a Bug told the world you didn't conform with the crowd, while the vans effortlessly acquired an undeniable surfer dude coolness.

A sense of community developed for those in the know and shows sprung up worldwide to share the enthusiam.

They are still going on today. Dubstock, for instance, is a show held in Herefordshire aimed at Volkswagen enthusiasts, providing a relaxed family weekend that doesn't put a massive dent in your bank balance, while at the same time raising money for charity.

There will be plenty on offer for petrol heads with three divisions scheduled of a 'show and shine' show (Air-Cooled, Water-Cooled and Air or Water Cooled) and all VAG and Porsche owners are welcome.

From the organisers: "We are a 'back-to-basics' so there might be a point in the weekend where you have to entertain yourselves, with a game of cricket, flying kites or anything else you'd like to do."
