Inspiring, both in terms of its aims and its seriously gorgeous Herefordshire setting, Hellensmusic 2017 will run from May 3 to 7.
The classical music festival unfurls every spring at historic Hellens Manor in Much Marcle, between Ross-on-Wye and Ledbury. Since it started in 2013, the ambitions have been threefold: to bring exceptional musicians together; to help talented students to learn from world-class professionals; and to bring great music to a lost corner of England.
"Following four sold-out editions, Hellensmusic returns to the village of Much Marcle from 3 to 7 May for five days of world-class concerts and masterclasses in the charming setting of Hellens, one of England’s oldest manor houses.
Quickly establishing its reputation for bringing the finest music-making to the heart of rural Herefordshire, the festival will feature performances by celebrated pianist Christian Blackshaw and a group of exceptional musicians from the Berlin Philharmonic, the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra.
2017 also brings a special opening event with the award-winning Cantabile Girls’ Choir from the Hereford Cathedral School and the promise of unexpected musical pairings and unforgettable tunes at the festival’s first ever pub concert (Feathers Hotel, Ledbury)."
