Mark your calendars for July 14 to 16 and prepare to step into your dancing shoes for The Vintage Escape Festival.
Set in the breathtaking parkland of Eastnor Castle Deer Park, in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, the Vintage Escape is a sparkling celebration of a by-gone era and is on course to become the UK’s premiere vintage festival.
The festival will feature over 150 of the best loved jazz and swing musicians in Europe, inspirational dance tutors, classic cars, vintage fashion, delicious fresh food, and creative fun for kids.
There will be expert dance tuition available (free of charge) to encourage dance enthusiasts of all levels.
And if polished metal and the sound of roaring engines are your thing then you will be at home in the event's classic car area, featuring car clubs and enthusiasts a like.
Furthermore, there will be a car parade on the Saturday and Sunday afternoon, including a best vintage car and driver competition.
Younger festival goers will have the chance to play and explore a children’s creative fun area free of charge, or to take part in one of the musical workshops on offer.
Another attraction is the Beautiful Vintage Village which will feature: fashion, crafts and food; a vintage golf area with three PGA qualified professionals overseeing your hidden talents; vintage baking competitions, including best vintage inspired cake; crafts and hobbies; and cream teas and champagne.
Perhaps best of all you can dance the night away under the stars with a magical soundtrack from yesteryear. On the bill are:
King Pleasure and The Biscuit Boys - One of the most authentic Rhythm and Blues bands ever to come from outside the USA with the added attraction of a zany stage show.
Bruce and Ilett Big Band
The band play faithful and authentic versions of the biggest hits of artists such as Duke Ellington, Woody Herman, and Count Basie.
Electric Swing Circus
A six-piece fusion of saucy 20's swing and stomping electro beats. With an explosive sound that reverberates back through time, Electric Swing Circus hotfoot their way through everything from breakbeat and house to reggae and dubstep, all with their own unique style of swing.
Moscow Drug Club
A curious musical approach that's reminiscent of Django Reinhardt and Tom Waits having an after hours jam. Combining their original material with songs by the likes of Jaques Brel, Leonard Cohen, Bertolt Brecht and Waits, Moscow Drug Club provide an intoxicating and intimate musical experience.
